Welcome to Hygiene Season!
Hygiene Season, have you ever heard of it? No? Me either, because I just made it up. Spring has sprung and with it starts the season of engagements, weddings, traveling, vacations, beach visits, and being outside with less clothes on. January through March, or Hibernation Season, is typically a slow time for hair removal services, but as soon as April 1 comes around, clients start booking appointments. The main reason women have been visiting me this spring is for hair removal in the bikini area.
My speciality is intimate hair removal. These services are known as Bikini, Extended Bikini, or Brazilian. What’s the difference?A Bikini Service is hair removal on the outside of the thigh crease all down your inner leg. Hair can also be removed from above the bikini line. An Extended Bikini is hair removed on the inside and outside of your inner thigh down your inner leg. The Extended Bikini does not remove hair on the labias. Hair stays on the Pubic bone region. The most popular service is a Brazilian where hair is removed from the Pubic Bone region, inner thighs, labias, and butthole. Unless the client requests, hair will not be left in this area.
In order to have the most effective painless sugaring appointment possible, it is really important to make sure your skin and hair are clean, especially where hair is being removed. Hygiene is a little different for everyone, but most importantly, it is to be as clean as possible so you look and feel good. When it comes to sugaring, it is especially important to have a clean body before getting on the sugar table. For example, right before your appointment, clean your intimate parts well by using soap and water to scrub the areas where you’ll be sugared, especially the areas you can’t see, but the Sugarist looks at in order to remove your unwanted hair. Bringing clean underwear for after the appointment is also helpful in maintaining cleanliness.
By coming to your appointment clean in your inner thighs, pubic bone, labias inner and outer, and butthole you create a positive vibe at your appointment. Creating a clean canvas of the areas where hair is being removed is how you invest in yourself.
The best way to maintain your skin and hair in this area is to use soap, scrub (exfoliate), and moisturize. This effective, simple three-step routine does not need to be done everyday, but it is helpful if you do. By scrubbing and moisturizing, it helps reduce the chance of ingrown hairs and bumps developing after being sugared, or even if you shave. Creating a routine that focuses on your girly parts will make you feel clean and fresh as you get ready for some sun and fun.
